Get the Look: Autumn Shades of Red and Gold

by Administrator 24. September 2013 09:31

A new season is a great excuse to refresh your interior décor and transform your home into a cosy, warm haven from the wet, windy weather outside.

This autumn, we’re taking inspiration from the gorgeous natural colours of the season, and sharing some easy ways to interpret beautiful red and gold palettes in your home.

Bold Bedrooms

Bedrooms are the perfect place to use flashes of the stunning rust red and gold hues you’re likely to see in nature this autumn.

This spacious show home bedroom is roomy enough for a bold interpretation of this season’s colours. We’ve made this colourful bed the focal point of the room, and furnished the rest of the space with muted tones to draw the eye to this stunning furniture. Add some comfortable throws to the bed, and a couple of rust orange candles to bedside tables to complete this on-trend look.

Golden florals

Floral patterns were a fashionable feature in interiors this summer, and these beautiful botanicals also translate perfectly to Autumn.

We’ve created a comfortable yet opulent look in this townhouse with a striking gold and white floral patterned feature wall. By complementing this with a light, gentle palette of gold and magnolia, and soft inviting bedding and curtains, we’ve created a truly sumptuous and soft look, and the perfect place for a wonderful night’s sleep.

Red Walls

Red is undoubtedly the colour of the season, so if you’ve ever wanted to make a bold statement with a crimson hue; now is the perfect time.

We’ve created a stunning statement wall in this room by painting it a bright and bold shade of red. By decorating the remainder of the room with large, plush furnishings and accessorising with eye-catching oversized vases and pottery in cream and ivory, we’ve ensured the room isn’t just dominated by one wall. We love the dark wood cabinet and coffee table here - they create a daring twist on a popular look.

Sheer luxury

When decorating your favourite room this season, why not aim for complete luxury with a completely golden palette?

We’ve combined wallpaper with shining stripes and with gold coloured fabrics and carpets in this living room for a premium look in this large, light living room. Elaborate on this theme with enticing decorative lighting and gilded accessories.  We love the subtle nod to natural autumn inspiration with the pretty leaf prints in the cushions and curtains.

Bronze and Maroon

Rich bronze with deep maroon may seem like an overwhelming colour combination, but interpreting this palette in a subtle way creates a luxurious and inviting look.

In this living room, we’ve used a beige palette and deep brown furniture as a base, and added flashes of opulence with shimmering bronze leaf patterns on the walls, with bold maroon detailing on textiles. We think this flattering palette makes this spacious living room an inviting place to relax with the family in front of a roaring fire.
